Serge was born in a town called Amersfoort in the Netherlands. The first thing he wanted to do when he was young is play with colors and blocks. His father, who was an architect, took him to his work and showed him how to make drawings and build things from sketch. It was clear Serge wanted to do something with design and technique. Starting his first company at the age of 17, he toured with different bands and musical groups through Holland, but Serge wanted more. At the age of 21 he decided to sell his company and become a freelance lighting technician.
After a couple of years being in theaters, liveshows and events as a technician he decided that he would like to become a lighting programmer. He got the chance to get his first training at the age of 24, which was the moment he knew he was heading in the right direction. He became a very successful programmer and was asked for many shows around the world.
At a certain moment he got the chance to make a design for a Korean drum group. He did not hesitate and answered the question with a big YES! At that time he did not know he was going to work wit the director of the Olympic Games of Seoul. The show was a succes and a great start in his new role as a lighting designer. Serge became an international designer for theater shows, live event and bands. Over the years as designer, he got more and more interested in lighting in combination with video. He started to work with a group of people who have the same passion. After a while he decided to join this team and gave up his freelance career to become a member of Live Legends.
Over the years Serge became Project Director of Live Legends and he and his team are now designing the best clubs in Asia and beyond.
